The campaign message
The Safe Sport Day 2026 theme was safeguarding should protect every child involved in sport and our SSI campaign is built around a simple call to action:
Stand up. Speak out. Play your part.
It invites everyone across sport to take responsibility for creating environments where people are safe, respected, included and able to participate without fear of harm.
Without the young people who serve as coaches, referees, ball squad members, and other roles – sport can’t happen. Often, we focus on safeguarding child athletes – and can forget about the children supporting sport in other ways. In 2026, let’s remember safeguarding is for every child in sport.
