Take action this Safe Sport Day
Choose one step. Make one commitment. Help make sport safer for everyone.
This Safe Sport Day, take the pledge and choose one action to help make sport safe, inclusive, respectful and free from harm. #TeamSafeSport #SafeSportDay
Take the pledge
Organisations can make a visible commitment to safer sport by taking the pledge.
The pledge is an opportunity to show that safeguarding is not an add-on, but a core part of how sport is governed, delivered and experienced. It asks organisations to recognise their role in creating environments where children and young people are safe, respected, included and heard.
By taking the pledge, organisations commit to working towards safe sport for every child, promoting the International Safeguards through their networks, embedding the Safeguards in their own work, and supporting Safe Sport Day.
It is a practical way for clubs, federations, governing bodies, partners and sport organisations to demonstrate leadership, raise awareness and help strengthen a shared global commitment to sport that is safe, inclusive and free from harm

How will you play your part?
Safe Sport Day is about practical action as well as awareness. Start with one meaningful step that fits your role, organisation or community.
That might mean sharing the campaign, starting a conversation, reviewing a policy, checking reporting routes, listening to athletes, supporting inclusion or taking the pledge. Every role matters. Every action helps.
Actions by role
For individuals
Learn about safe sport, reflect on your own behaviour, speak up when it is safe to do so, use inclusive language, share the campaign and encourage others to take action.
For athletes
Learn about your rights, support teammates, take part in athlete voice opportunities, help shape team agreements around respect and speak to a trusted person if something does not feel right.
For coaches and officials
Review codes of conduct, check boundaries, hold a short safe sport discussion, make sure participants know who they can speak to, and seek feedback on the sporting environment.
For parents and carers
Talk with children about what safe sport should feel like, understand how to report concerns, ask whether they feel safe and heard, and support clubs to create positive environments.
For clubs and community organisations
Review safeguarding policies, check reporting routes, train staff and volunteers, listen to participants, improve online safety and promote inclusion across programmes.
For national governing bodies and federations
Review safeguarding standards, strengthen complaint and case-management systems, involve athletes in decision-making, invest in safeguarding capacity and support member organisations.
